Itinerary of the excursion to Dendera half day
We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning at 6:00 a.m. and drive about 220 km towards Dendera. (Different route from Marsa Alam). Dendera Temple was dedicated to the goddess Hathor, the goddess of joy, beauty, maternal qualities, and love. In Greek and Ptolemaic times, Hathor was equated with Aphrodite, with the Romans with Vernus.

Dendera Temple
In the temple you can visit the Holy Lake, the sanatorium, the Mamisi, and the only surviving image of the pharaoh Cleopatra. Your guide will also show you beautiful astronomical displays on the ceiling and enigmatic reliefs in the temple's crypt. There is a fascinating insight into the encounter of great civilizations with a famous wall relief of Cleopatra VII and her son, fathered by Julius Caesar.
