The White Desert is rightfully Egypt's most famous desert destination - and with good reason. The abundance of unearthly and beautiful wind-carved rock formations in the form of giant mushrooms or pebbles is unparalleled in any desert in the world. Farafra is closer to this 300km protectorate than Bahariya but offers a more limited choice of tours and safaris. Nevertheless, it is the perfect starting point for a nocturnal journey into the infinite white.
Just north of the White Desert, the Black Desert is closer to Bahariya than Farafra, about 50 km south of Bawiti. The mountains have been eroded and the desert is covered in a black layer of powder and rock that gave the desert its name. At the end of the Black Desert are black volcanic mountains that erupted long ago with a black volcanic material called basalt, forming black rocks. Climb English Hill, the highest point in the Black Desert, and enjoy breathtaking views of exotic lands.

Cairo 3 Days Itinerary, Bahariya Oasis, and White Desert Day One
Around 3:00 am we will pick you up in an air-conditioned vehicle and drive about 430 kilometers from Hurghada to Cairo. (680 km from Marsa Alam to Cairo). Halfway you will stop at a rest area to rest. Arrive in Cairo around 7:30 am. First, visit the Egyptian Museum. Then we drive to the Pyramids of Giza. After visiting the Pyramids we will go to lunch before heading to your booked hotel. After dinner, we drive to Old Cairo to enjoy the great atmosphere at El Moez Street and Khan El Khalili Bazaar in Cairo. This is an experience not to be missed.

The next day
We will pick you up from your hotel in Giza or Cairo at 06:00 and drive to Bahariya Oasis, about 350 km west of Cairo. It takes about 3 hours to drive from Cairo to Bahariya Oasis and we will have a break in the middle. Around 9:00 AM we arrive at Bahriya Oasis and transfer to a 4x4 (4*4 jeep). Now our adventure in the Sahara begins. We drive to the Black Desert starting with a visit to Al-Marsous Mountain where we will admire 150 million-year-old lava. Soon we will climb Panorama Mountain which overlooks the black desert and enjoys the glorious stillness of the desert. Around 1:00 p.m. we will have lunch at the oasis of El Haize. Then drive through the Agabat Valley into the ancient desert for beautiful photos of the limestone formations. The Valley of Agabat was under the sea millions of years ago. Over time, unique amazing rock formations of limestone, chalk, and sand developed. In this valley, 7 skeletons of dinosaurs were found. Around 5:00 p.m. we reach the white desert of Egypt.

The White Desert
It is a national park that is considered the most famous nature reserve in the desert. Around 6:00 p.m., while our driver sets up the tents for our overnight stay, we enjoy the sunset. 18:30, when the sky turns pink, a mystical atmosphere arises, and there is silence everywhere. As you sit by the small fire and enjoy the simple meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables, you'll feel like nothing has ever tasted so good. The Bedouins will prepare a delicious dinner for us and arrange desert camping.

The third day
At 06:00 a.m., when we look in front of our tents, we experience a fantastic sunrise. Around 07:00 we have our breakfast in the desert before driving to Bahariya Oasis. Around 09:00 on the way back we will visit Crystal Mountain, known locally as Gebel al-Izzaz. It's more of a crystal mound on the right, often referred to as the jewel of the desert. It is made of quartzite crystals and looks impressive in the sun's rays. A few decades ago, this natural feature was found by accident. 11:00 We drive to Bahariya Oasis and swim in a natural sulfur spring known for curing rheumatic and skin diseases. Around 12:00 we enjoy a nice drive through the date palm plantations until we reach the English Mountain. We then climb to enjoy the beautiful view of the whole oasis and take great pictures. at 3:00 p.m. we drive towards Cairo and further back to Hurghada.
